Hello, this is Bus Bulletin. This article (http://www.newsherald.com/news/government/school-buses-go-high-tech-1.186477?page=0) was written without our knowledge and is not entirely correct. The GPS and cameras have nothing to do with Bus Bulletin. Bus Bulletin is a service the school district has been using for three years now. We simply send short text messages, phone calls, and/or emails to parents/students/school officials when a bus is running late, been in an accident, etc… It’s free for parents to sign up and they decide how they want to be notified. We believe that most parents would want to receive a single text when something goes wrong as opposed to numerous texts when things go as planned (such as getting on and off the bus with a RFID chip). Again, we do not track, we do not watch, we simply notify you when the bus is running late or in a accident. We are a local company but do business in several other states also. All data is protected and private.

Thank you.

P.S. The bus route data for Bay County District Schools will available later today or tomorrow. We will send out a tweet, a Facebook post, and email those already signed up when it’s ready so that you can select your routes.
